1949
Institute of Industrial Management changes name to the Australian Institute of Management
1952
Membership reaches 1,000

AIM established in the ACT
1962
AIM creates history by becoming the first organization to sponsor an Advanced Management Program conducted by a group of American Professors
1967
The Institute expands and moves to Walker Street, North Sydney
1972
AIM income was just over $500,000. In 2003 revenue approaches $18.0 million
1984
- Dr Edward de Bono conducts first seminar for the Institute on ‘lateral thinking’
- AIM relocates to its present office in North Sydney

- AIM launches first Senior Executive Forum
- AIM goes online with the launch of on-line resources

- Personal Membership exceeds 9,100 and still growing
- Jack Welch addresses Members and the business community
- Richard Woolcott adds weight to the Institutes highly successful Breakfast Briefing program
