Having received a high number of outstanding submissions, the Australian Institute of Management NSW & ACT today announced the five finalists in the AIM Young Manager of the Year 2008 James E Layt Award.

Why a CEOs pay differs by gender - 28/08/2008
With the increasing focus on equal pay issues, the Australian Institute of Management’s recent National Salary Survey points to some interesting statistics. For example what may be known is that female staff are paid, on average, 12% less than their male counterparts. What may not be known is that the most significant difference in gender pay occurs at the Chief Executive level, where females earn 18% less than their male counterparts for undertaking the same job roles… the question it begs is why?

National Salary Survey - May 2008
An encouraging sign emerging against the back-drop of the current skills shortage, is that staff turnover rates have fallen to 12.7 per cent in small companies, from the 13.6 per cent recorded last year, the nation’s leading salary survey has revealed.
